The TRC Event will consist of
competitive golfers with vastly different abilities. There will be two (2) teams
(The "Blacks" and The "Blues") with the equal number of golfers on each team.
The make-up of each team will be as identical as possible, that is, each team will have an
equal number of golfers with similar abilities. Event play will pit individuals or 2-man
teams competing head to head for points. These points will be totalled for The
"Blacks" and The "Blues". The team that accumulates the most points will win the
coveted Walnut Ryder Cup.
For this competition, handicaps
will not be used.
Golfers of similar abilities and similar handicaps will be competing against each other, but
without the use of handicaps themselves. However, golfers of varying abilities may be teamed
with each other, as long as the opposing 2-Man team's abilities are similar. For example, a 15
hdcp golfer and a 3 hdcp golfer may be teamed up against a 7 hdcp golfer and a 10 hdcp golfer
(Totalling up team handicaps: 18 hdcp vs. 17 hdcp). Remember, USGA handicaps are recommended for
team drafting and determination of golfing ability, but will not be used in this competition.
Entry into The Ryder Cup Event is on a first come first served basis.
The Event fee of $65 includes all golf, food, etc (fees for full course member is $45, full course member
w/cart $25, and employees is $25).
You will receive a team hat and there will be dinner Saturday Night (Non-golfers Welcome $15
Meal charge). Cash, MC/Visa, or check payable to Walnut Run Golf Course is acceptable. All
entries must be in before July 20, 2007.

Selection Rules
- DRAFT
- Captains will choose team members.
- Each captain has five (5) minutes per selection
- Coin toss to decide which team has first choice in the round (round #1), each subsequent round first draft choice goes to team with the HIGHEST team total handicap. Repeat the process until all golfers have been selected.
- If at the end of any round, the total team handicaps are equal then a coin toss will decide the drafting order.
- PAIRING SELECTIONS FOR PLAY
- Forty golfers will compete in each event except individual matches where all golfers will participate. The captain and the two (2) assistants will choose which players will compete in the matches.
- The team with the most points will be asked to show their pairing first, if teams are tied or have no points awarded, a coin toss will determine which team will show 1st pairing. The other team will select the opponents for the first pairing and select a second pairing (or team). Continue this alternating process until all golfers have been paired. Only the first forty (40) golfers will be scheduled to play and the last twelve (12) golfers will be No-show alternative matches.

Rules of Play
- COURSE PLAY
- The format for the TRC League will be Match Play. Match play is decided hole by hole rather than cumulatively over 18 holes. A hole is won by the team that holes its ball in the fewest strokes.
- When a team is up (winning) by more holes than there are holes remaining, the the match is closed out and a point is awarded.
- One point is awarded for each match won. If the match is tied or Halved through 18 holes of play, each team receives one half of a point.
- If a match is currently tied while in competition, then it is considered All-Square.
- A match is considered Dormie when a team is up the exact number of holes that remain.
- Concession - A stroke, hole or an entire match can be conceded at any time prior to the conclusion of the hole or match. Concession of a stroke, hole or match may not be declined or withdrawn.
- If, at the conclusion of The Ryder Cup League Matches, the teams are tied with the same number of points, the competition will be a draw and both captain will have their name on the Cup. Or the captains meet to see if they want a playoff. Both captain must agree, for a playoff to occur.
- 2-Man Best Ball is also known as Four ball. 2-Man Best Ball play is a match in which each member of the two-man teams play their own ball. Four balls are in play per hole with each of the four players recording a score on the hole. The team whose player posts the best score on that hole wins the hole. Should players from each team tie for the best score, the hole is halved. Ball is play down with no lie improvement.
- Scramble play is a match both members hit a tee shot then select the best shot of the two and both members hit from that location. Repeat the until the hole is played out. Each shot after the tee shot must be played within one (1) scorecard length of the best shot location no closer to the hole. The ball must stay within the same cut of grass, hazard etc. Traps may be repaired after each shot. The ball may be marked and placed at each location.
- Alternate Shot is also known as Foursomes. Alternate shot play is a match where two golfers compete on a team against two other golfers and each side plays one ball. The golfers play alternate shots (player A hits the tee shot, player B hits the second shot etc.) until the hole is played out. Team members alternate playing the tee shots, with one golfer hitting the tee shot on odd-numbered holes, and the other hitting the tee shot from the even-numbered holes. The team with the better score wins the hole. Should the two teams tie for best score, the hole is halved. Ball is play down with no lie improvement.
- Singles are matches in which one player competes against another player. A player wins the match when he is up by more holes than there are hole remaining to play. Ball is play down with no lie improvement.
- The team (Blacks or Blues) with the most points at the conclusion of The Ryder Cup Matches wins the Cup.
- The White Tee Box is to be used for all play
- USGA Rules govern all play
- NO-SHOWS
- Alternative Selected Matches (ASM) which will be used to replace any foursome with a No-Shows
- If there is no (ASM) available, No-Shows will be substituted by the team's next highest handicap golfer (score only) that is participating in the event. In the case that there is more than one golfer with the same handicap then a coin toss will decide which golfer will be the opponent.
- RULE CHANGES & DISPUTES
- All rule changes must be agreed upon by the captains and their assistants (all six [6] golfers)
- All disputes will be settle by the captains and their assistants (all six [6] golfers)
- Any dispute involving the captain or their assistants will be settle using the alternate assistant (third selection on the team) to replace the involved golfer.

Money Games
- SKINS
- Three (3) groups for All Skins Games - All skins game will be divided into three (3) handicap groups. The ranges for the three (3) skin groups (Individual, 2-Man Best Ball and Scramble Events) will be determined by the formula: highest league golfer's handicap minus lowest league golfer's handicap divided by three (3). For example, highest hdcp 27 minus lowest hdcp 4 equals 23 : 23 divided by 3 equals 7.667 : Therefore, 4 to 11.667 (11 or lower) Group#1, 11.668 to 19.334 (12 to 19) Group#2, and 19.335 to 27.002 (20 and up) Group#3. The range for the three (3) skin groups (Alternate Shot Event) will be determined by the formula: add the two (2) highest league golfer handicaps minus the two (2) lowest handicap league golfers divided by three (3) will determine the three (3) skin groups. For example, the two (2) highest hdcp 27 & 27 minus the two (2) lowest hdcp 4 & 6 equals 44 : 44 divided by 3 equals 14.667 : Therefore, 10 to 24.667 (24 or lower) Group#1, 24.668 to 39.334 (24 to 39) Group#2, and 39.335 to 54.002 (40 and up) Group#3.Once these groups ranges are established for the league, they will remain constant for the year.
